Canary Habitat

Canary birds are endemic to the Canary Islands as their name implies, in addition to the Azores and Madeira, found in the Atlantic Ocean. Estimations of canary populations are within the 10,000 to 100,000 pairs.

The birds are found throughout many different environments, such as pine forests to sands dunes, reflecting their ability to adapt, but canary pairs are mostly found within forests of small trees such as orchards and man-made parks where short trees and small bushes are abundant.
