Information on the Pet Bird, the Canary

The canary is a passerine bird that is from the genus Serinus. The canary is part of the family of finch birds, known as Fringillidae.

Canary birds range from 10-14 cm in length, with a wingspan of around 21 cm and a weight of approximately 17 grams. These small birds are therefore easy to maintain and do not require very large cages.
